         On 5 August 2019,government of india revoked the special status and autonomy,granted under Article 370 of indian constitution to Jammu And Kashmir.The state is now divided into two union territory -Jammu & Kashmir and  ladakh.

                 

              Advantages of Scrapping Article 370  

1. Private investors can invest and boost the economy of the state.
2.  The centre will be able to provide better medical and education facilities to the citizens of india.
3. It unites J&K with other states of india.
4. corruption in J&K, now can be controlled by the centre government.
5.  It propagates the slogan of "One Nation One Constitution"

                  Disadvantages of Scrapping Article 370

1. Kashmiri muslims feels it threaten the state's unity and integrity.
2. Kashmiri citizens will no longer have dual citizen ship.
3. How the article 370 was revoked has strained the already delicate relations of India with Pakistan. 
4. Add on to the political vulnerability and instability in the valley.

Article 370 and Article 35a

       It gives special status to Jammu And Kashmir.This article gives the power to have separate constitution,a state flag and autonomy over the internal administration of the state.

     

                                     Article 35A

     This article,along with article 370 defines that the Jammu And Kashmir live under a separate set of laws and Indian citizens from other states could not purchase land or property in Jammu And Kashmir.
